FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
To be eligible for the RMFP benefit you must have attained age 55 and earned at least 10 service credits. You must also be receiving a pension check from an IBEW/NECA - sponsored defined benefit pension and you must be covered under the St. Paul Electrical Workers Health Plan at the time of retirement for at least 60 consecutive months immediately preceding retirement. A participant earns .1 service credits for every 170 hours worked in covered employment, up to a maximum of 1.0 credit at 1700 worked hours per year (Limited to a maximum of 42 service credits for a lifetime). If you have any questions regarding service credits, please contact the Fund Office.
Prior to Medicare eligibility - 2.5% for the first 32 service credits plus 1% for next 10 service credits maximum 42 credits.
After Medicare eligibility - 1.75% for the first 32 service credits plus 1% for next 10 service credits maximum 42 credits.

You do not need to apply for the RMFP benefit, it goes into effect when you begin your IBEW 110 pension.
The RMFP benefit is for you and your spouse for life, as long as you stay in the health plan.
Your spouse is eligible for the RMFP benefit based upon the member’s eligibility for the IBEW 110 Pension plan as long as they remain on the health plan.
The RMFP benefit would end for a divorced spouse upon their termination date in the health plan.
In order to change your mailing address, you must complete a Change of Address Form. You may print and complete the form, or you may contact the Fund Office and a form will be mailed to you.
